Description:
Supervises the drafting of all city ordinances and preparation of all city legal documents. Provides legal representation of city council, staff, boards and commissions. Institutes or defends any suit, action, or proceeding on behalf of the city or any of its agencies. Receives and handles all claims against the city. Manages outside counsel needed for specific types of litigation. Represents the state in criminal misdemeanor cases.
