Eligibility:
Adults age 18 and older, who have no misdemeanor arrests within six months of application, and no felony arrests or convictions within five years

Description:
Provides 36-hour academy course for people in the community. The goal is to provide students with a greater understanding of the Oro Valley Police Department and its operations through class lectures and hands-on experiences. Addresses topics such as community policing, patrol functions, crime laboratory, traffic law, K-9 support, SWAT Team, School Resource Officer program, and crime prevention.

Mon-Fri 7am-3pm administration; classes Tue 6pm-9pm
