Modest Needs Foundation

Eligibility:

Individuals and families who are able to pay their monthly bills but have a financial crisis due to a single, unexpected expense may request help. Donors register, give credit card details, and may fund the selected need in full or in part.

Intake Process:

Visit website to apply; after the pre-screening process, must scan and email supporting documents. Does not accept applications by mail. Qualified applications are then posted online for potential donors to review and designate recipients.

Description:

Provides website for people in need to request financial assistance through crowdfunded grants. Those who have encountered a short-term emergency expense may request funds to remain self-sufficient. Donations are made to Modest Needs, not directly to individuals. If the request is not fully funded, partial funds will not be granted to the applicant and the donation is returned to donors' account to be used to fulfill other grant applications. Donors may browse by state, by need, or by amount needed; and give confidentially.
