Intake Process:
Call office during regular hours; call local police for after hours assistance.
Description:
Enforces animal control ordinances such as leash laws. Picks up stray dogs in contracted cities including Buckeye, Carefree, Cave Creek, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gila Bend, Gilbert, Goodyear, Guadalupe, Litchfield Park, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Tempe, Youngtown, and Salt River Pima/Maricopa Indian Communities. Cats will not be picked up unless they have bitten a person. Stray cats can be brought into county centers. Responds to calls about dangerous dogs and dog bites and rescues injured unowned animals and brings them to the county clinic for care.
