Emergency Management Training

Programs that provide technical assistance, training and exercise support to improve the technical competence and public policy perspective of emergency managers and staff in federal, state and local governments to minimize the impact of a major disaster or large-scale emergency on the public. Participants may include emergency management personnel, fire service and allied professionals, law enforcement personnel, emergency medical services workers and public works groups, as well as representatives from the private sector, including volunteer organizations.

Organizational Disaster Training

Programs that provide training for community based organizations which helps them prepare for assuming a responsible role in a major disaster or large-scale emergency that disrupts the normal functioning of a community. Included are programs that provide training which helps organizations develop and test internal emergency plans for minimizing the loss of life and property during and immediately following an incident as well as those that focus on helping information and referral programs and other community-based organizations define their mission in a disaster situation and develop the relationships they need to become a formal part of the disaster planning, relief and recovery efforts in their community.
