Description:
Educates the community regarding the needs and concerns of people with disabilities. Provides training classes including CPR, first aid, parenting classes, early child development classes, and other disabilities-related training. Formulates action plans to address identified needs and shape the federal, state, and local, service systems including transportation and housing issues. Advocates for legislation, programs, services and rights which ensure that people with disabilities have the opportunity to enjoy independent, productive lives in their community. Links people to needed programs and services through outreach, information sharing, and referrals.
