Description:
Licenses and inspects medical, industrial, and academic users of radioactive materials and non-ionizing radiation equipment. Includes equipment such as lasers used in the medical, industrial, and light show fields; ultraviolet radiation in tanning facilities; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). Registers and inspects x-ray producing machines. Also makes a list of radioactive material users available. Prepares for and responds to radiation accidents statewide.
