Description:
Lay health educators (promotoras) provide free health information and guidance to community residents, through community-based education programs. Classes offer information on prenatal health care, smoking cessation/relapse prevention, nutrition and fitness, breast cancer, menopause, obesity, asthma and cardiovascular disease. Also provides support groups for people with lupus, cancer, and diabetes.
