Description:

Encourages communities to prepare for emergencies and disasters. Provides technical assistance to Citizen Corps Councils statewide. Local councils train and coordinate volunteer groups for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Fire Corps, Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), and the National Neighborhood Watch Program.
