Description:
Identifies and investigates infectious and communicable diseases including newly emergent pathogens. Investigates chemical and microbiological contaminants to monitor and reduce these sources of contamination. Provides screening to identify newborns with certain rare disorders and assists families of affected infants so they receive appropriate and timely treatment to prevent or delay serious medical problems.
