Acrobatics Performances

Programs that offer stage performances in which troupes of entertainers perform gymnastic feats including cycling tricks, tumbling, pole climbing, spring board stunts, balancing acts, tight wire feats, contortion acts and other maneuvers requiring skillful control of their bodies. Also included are organizations that make arrangements for acrobatic performances.

Clowning

Programs that offer a form of entertainment which features clowns or clown companies (individuals who wear grotesque costumes often featuring baggy pants, giant shoes and outrageous wigs, and whose faces are made up, generally with wildly colored greasepaint) who do voluntary or paid comedic performances for charitable organizations, hospital patients, children's programs, children's birthday parties, civic organizations, corporations, churches and other similar groups as well as participate in parades or other celebratory activities. Clowning sketches may feature pie throwing, stilt-walking, juggling, unicycling, magic tricks, puppetry, face and hand painting, balloon sculpture and other physical comedy tricks and routines. Also included are organizations that make arrangements for clown performances.

Storytelling

Programs that offer a form of entertainment in which performers recount fables, legends or folk tales from around the world or tell anecdotes that are drawn from their own life experience. The material may be comical, whimsical or serious and audience participation may be solicited. Also included are organizations that make arrangements for storytelling events.
